Industry Titan Mark Joseph to Deliver Keynote Speech at Mobilize 2019

Former CEO of Transdev Will Be Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

(ROCKVILLE, Md.)— This year’s recipient of The Transportation Alliance’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Mark Joseph, will deliver a keynote speech at Mobilize 2019, The Transportation Alliance’s annual convention & expo held October 16-19 at Bally’s in Las Vegas.

As CEO of Transdev North America, Joseph grew the company to become the largest private sector operator of multimodal passenger ground transportation services in the United States.

Joseph’s impressive reputation in the transportation industry began long before his arrival at Transdev North America. Joseph started his career working part-time for his family’s company, Yellow Cab, in the 1970s. Even in the midst of a recession, Joseph helped Yellow Cab evolve into a thriving transportation company.

Joseph went on to expand to other transportation services under the company’s new name, Yellow Transportation. Joseph oversaw the business’ expansion into the paratransit industry assisting the Mass Transit Administration in the Baltimore and surrounding areas in providing services for the elderly and people with disabilities. Yellow Transportation then continued to evolve, branching into the school bus business, commuter bus system, trolley operations, limousine and private ambulance services.

After Yellow Transportation was acquired by the French transport company Veolia (later Transdev), Joseph ran the company’s Washington, D.C. and Denver operations. Joseph went on to serve as its chief operating officer for two years and later as chief executive officer.

Joseph will be honored at Mobilize 2019 in recognition of his deep impact on the for-hire passenger transportation industry. During his keynote speech, Joseph is expected to share his predictions for the future of the transportation industry.

“Mark is an inspiring example of how a business owner can prosper in this industry by taking big leaps with new and innovative business practices,” said Terry O’Toole, President of The Transportation Alliance. “It’s these kinds of exemplary leaders that are the backbone of what our association is all about, where members can learn from some of the greatest success stories of our industry. It’s truly one of the greatest reasons to attend Mobilize 2019.”

The Transportation Alliance is in the process of confirming two other keynote speakers for Mobilize 2019.
