Boston to Host Conference & Expo on NEMT & Contracting for Fleet Operators

(ROCKVILLE, Md.)— The preliminary agenda for The Transportation Alliance’s 2020 Spring Conference & Expo has been announced, with two days packed with business expansion opportunities in the NEMT and contracting space for fleet operators. The conference will take place March 18-20 at the Westin Copley in Boston.

The conference kicks off on March 18 with an Opening General Session. President Tom Arrighi will welcome attendees to his home state of Massachusetts, giving them an overview of the association’s legislative victories protecting NEMT, as well as potential threats from Washington that will require extreme vigilance from the industry. The Opening General Session will include an “Overview of Contracting Opportunities,” and conclude with a presentation on government contracting and subcontracting opprotunities with specific focuses on NEMT & healthcare, paratransit & microtransit, and school transportation opportunities.

Attendees will then move to the Expo Hall where they will be able to peruse the offerrings of nearly three dozen top industry vendors, including dispatch software, insurance services, accessible vehicle companies, more.

The following day, the Second General Session will focus on “business-to-business” contracting and subcontracting opportunities through hospitals, Medicare, and even brokers.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees will have the options to strike business deals in the Expo Hall or they can attend one of the various association committee meetings open to the public. That afternoon, the conference’s Closing General Session will hold open calls for Board nominations. Following this, attendees will hear a presentation on “Finding, Evaluating and Responding to RFPs.” In a perfect wrap-up, the conference’s final event will be the presentation, “You Won the Contract/Subcontract—Now What?”

With the action-packed agenda kicking off on March 18, many attendees will be arriving in Boston on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17—and you haven’t experienced St. Patrick’s Day unless you’ve celebrated it in Boston! The city will be decked out in green as Bostonians celebrate its Irish roots. For the real party, attendees should plan to arrive a few days early so they can attend the infamous St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston (“Southie”) on Sunday, March 15. From the Block Rose in downtown Boston to JJ Foley’s in “Southie,” there are an abundance of places to have a seat after a day of traveling, grab a pint and revel in the music and culture of Ireland.

Whether you are a veteran of government contracting, are in the process of expanding your business in one of these areas, or new to the NEMT business, TTA has ensured anyone who attends the conference will leave Boston with a wealth of knowledge to move their fleet forward.
