New TTA President Received Warmly on Capitol Hill
While you might think Capitol Hill is focused solely these days on impeachment proceedings, the wheels of government continue to turn, as evidenced by a highly successful visit by The Transportation Alliance last month. Tom Arrighi, president of The Transportation Alliance, met with eight key elected officials (Democrats and Republicans) on Capitol Hill on Nov. 20 to introduce himself as the newly elected leader of the 102-year-old trade association and to talk about crucial service and safety issues affecting our industry.
Earlier this year, The Transportation Alliance (TTA) and its allies were successful in adding language to the House fiscal year 2020 appropriations legislation that would stop the Trump administration from promulgating a rule allowing states to opt out of providing critical non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services to Medicaid recipients in your community.
Spring Conference to Focus on Contracting and NEMT
The Executive Committee of The Transportation Alliance (TTA) met Dec. 6-9 in California to tackle several major issues, including the theme of TTA's upcoming Spring Conference & Expo in Boston. Given the major new business lines that have opened up for member fleet operators, the committee voted unanimously to focus the theme of TTA's major spring event on contracting and non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) operations and opportunities. The Spring Conference will be held March 18-20 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston's beautiful Back Bay area.

The results of our post-convention survey are in, and our big annual gathering at Mobilize 2019 in Las Vegas a few weeks ago won high marks from attendees. Overall, the convention received excellent marks where 4 out of 5 people rated the convention "excellent" or "good." As always, we know it is the operators and the vendors who make our conventions a success, so we want to thank each and every person who attended!
